I have come to realize that the essence of responsibility has to do with how well you listen to yourself and how well you are able to allow your own actions and reactions come from your center. Allowing yourself to respond to the information you already know within your center to be true. Through staying centered, listening to your self, and deciding the best course of action or attitude to take is what I have realized it is all about.
Through out time we have been taught responsibility has to do with the burdens of the external world or your interactions to a particular experience or even how well you treat others. There are so many different external responsibilities that have been layered on through the ages of society. We have been programmed, raised and indoctrinated into the social world so much so, that the line has been blurred about whether or not we are acting truly of our own accord. Or are we acting on the teachings and examples given to us by the world. Teachings that filter in subtly and softly, we do not notice they are slowly transforming us into what the world desires us to be. These teachings reinforced daily, through a variety of means such as contact with others, media, music, news, rules, laws, products and corporations.
In the moral world responsibility has been tied to our actions and burdens we are responsible for as human beings such as we are responsible for paying our bills, for repaying debt, for our very own actions such as killing someone. And now it has grown into we are responsible for other peoples' feelings. However, these responsibilities are not the true nature of the beast. These are external responsibilities that have been put into place to try to form acceptable social and moral behaviors for society that everyone will follow. Those who have yet tapped into their own true consciousness finds comfort in following the rules set up in society it allows them to feel less confused, scared, afraid and alone. They find comfort in being able to look outside themselves, because they are afraid what they may find inside. They very well may find they too are capable of the very things they detest. And instead of accepting it, they rather eradicate it from the external world, as if they are eradicating it from their own inner shadows. But what they don't realize is as long as they seek to eradicate the very thing they so hate or despise, the longer it will be in this reality.
Because of the sense of isolation, loneliness and fear this world has developed a moral code to live by. Do not get me wrong the moral code that has been created has benefited humankind up until this point. But now we have come to a crossroads. Where the old ways are no longer working and a new path needs to be carved out. So, we can carry on the human existence
What many do not realize is the morality that has been created has developed into chaos becoming more complicated and more fear based of actual living than ever before. Chaos has ensued because of mixing of cultures for different parts of the world, even different parts of the United States. Thus, chaos has become the foothold of foundation for most people. And for people in general it is like we are fish flopping outside water. It keeps us from our center.
When exploring the new age, spiritual, metaphysical realm I found they have the same type of mentality going on as well. Accept here they are in favor of action that promotes love and understanding. So, they have come to the conclusion that responsibility meaning "response-ability". Meaning it is how you spiritually handle your situation. And to spiritually handle it you must come from love and understanding, allowing the situation, experience or person to be or it is to offer help, love and understanding to the situation or person you are acting towards. It could be even be saying when confronting a situation that is uncomfortable "everything happens for a reason", "if it truly is meant to be it will still be there when I get back", or "hand it over to god and let him deal with it".
Here they just took the burden and made it a little lighter through shoving it away or seeing with rose colored glass. Ignoring the whole gambit of emotions and thoughts that do not conform to this spiritual moral code, thus refusing to address there own foundation of fear. And sometimes the spiritual moral responsibility often takes on the tone of moral world responsibility having a cause, fighting battles and taking on that burden. It tries to dictate that if you are spiritual you must act in a particular way with love and compassion and not anger or hatred.
Responsibility, is rather quite simple, it is to operate from your core energetic soul center that which you know to be true. If you have a love for the environment and you truly feel connected to mother earth, than operate from that source of love and reverence. Determine what you want to do with it inside your own self. Take the cues from your own inner strength, beauty and knowledge. Keep in mind if you try to then hold it up as a standard that people should live by it then gets disconnected from your center and it then becomes moral and mental process.
By trying to convert people to taking care of the environment it will become a struggle and fighting, resistance and intolerance will occur. However, if one shares their love for the environment, and their passion with those who are open. They have a greater amount of power to in act change by attracting people that are looking to have that interest be sparked in them.
If you have fear, anger, hatred, sadness, etc. emotions that are usually unwanted within the spiritual arena, then allow what you know to be true. For example, you could very well allow that emotion to have it say within your body, no movement or action is given to it, just mere awareness. Or you allow the emotion to be reflective on that which is hidden allowing a greater understanding of your self and your surroundings come into focus. Or you could allow it to be a warning, such as if you have a bad feeling about going sky diving, maybe you do not go.
Whichever it is, you have an opportunity to own your center and be responsible for that which you already know and are able to operate from.
